Family Art Saturday: Lawn Chair Strap Paintings @ Utah Museum of Contemporary Art | Salt Lake City | Utah | United States

Weave beautiful patterns of line and color using plastic webbing from lawn furniture. Inspired by Buster Graybill’s lawn chair strap ‘paintings,’ this art project celebrates material from everyday life and challenges the distinction between ‘high’ and ‘low’ culture. Stretch, layer and interweave colorful straps to create a playful take-home artwork.

UMOCA invites children of all ages and their families to discover our changing exhibitions and participate together in hands-on art making activities led by a trained educator. Each activity connects to a brand new idea, medium or theme explored by an artist currently exhibited in the museum. Projects are suitable from toddler to tween in a wide range of abilities.
Family Art Saturday is offered free of charge.

Family Art Saturday is held the second Saturday of each month from 2 – 4 pm

Museum admission is a $5 suggested donation to help support our programming.
