Family Art Saturday: Hybrid Home Paper Sculptures
20 S W Temple
Salt Lake City, UT 84101
Krista Svalbonas combines photographs of buildings to create angular, 3D artworks that represent ‘home.’ The artist assembles these sculptures using images of multiple places in her past and present, such as New York City, rural Pennsylvania and Chicago. Use a variety of architectural images to cut, fold and construct your own paper sculpture inspired by the artist.
BEFORE YOU ATTEND: Want to use your own photographs of buildings that represent ‘home’ to you? Email your image(s) to firstname.lastname@example.org before the event. Files should be at the highest possible resolution. Extra photographs will be available for those who need them.
UMOCA invites children of all ages and their families to discover our changing exhibitions and participate together in hands-on art making activities led by a trained educator. Each activity connects to a brand new idea, medium or theme explored by an artist currently exhibited in the museum. Projects are suitable from toddler to tween in a wide range of abilities.
Family Art Saturday is offered free of charge.
Family Art Saturday is held the second Saturday of each month from 2 to 4 pm
Museum admission is a $5 suggested donation to help support our programming.
