FAMILY ART SATURDAY: DESIGNING FOR PLAY @ Utah Museum of Contemporary Art | Salt Lake City | Utah | United States

Kids, design your very own playground! Artist Nils Norman’s Play Structure creates an opportunity for open-ended play inside the museum. Made up of platforms, ramps and ladders, this artwork invites people to escape predictable interactions in public spaces and instead, use their imaginations. In this activity, engineer a never-before-seen play structure of your own. Create a take-home model of your unique design out of colorful popsicle sticks.

UMOCA invites children of all ages and their families to discover our changing exhibitions and participate together in hands-on art making activities led by a trained educator. Each activity connects to a brand new idea, medium or theme explored by an artist currently exhibited in the museum. Projects are suitable from toddler to tween in a wide range of abilities.

Family Art Saturday is offered free of charge.
Museum admission is a $5 suggested donation to help support our programming.
