Cities of Conviction Family Workshop

Join UMOCA on Saturday, August 26 for a very special Family Art Saturday featuring visiting artists from Cities of Conviction.

Artists will use colorful ink and experimental materials to create paintings with Lina Gazzaz; learn calligraphic techniques and form your own “calligraffiti” artwork with Nugamshi; and create art with Yusef Alahmad.

About Cities of Convction: In partnership with King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture and CULTURUNNERS, Cities of Conviction is an exhibition of contemporary art from Saudi Arabia. While the artworks have been curated by UMOCA, this exhibition and its associated events are part of a multi-city program to enable cultural dialogue between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

About Family Art Saturday: UMOCA invites children of all ages and their families to discover our changing exhibitions and participate together in hands-on art making activities led by a trained educator. Each activity connects to a brand new idea, medium or theme explored by an artist currently exhibited in the museum. Projects are suitable from toddler to tween in a wide range of abilities.

Family Art Saturday is a free family experience.

Museum admission is a $5 suggested donation to help support our programming.
